The Reptile Hospice and Sanctuary of Texas is a Texas based reptile rescue that is located in the beautiful Brazos Valley.
The vast majority of animals at the Sanctuary are either ill, injured or their owners were no longer able to care for them. Some have been released to the Sanctuary by their owners because they just don’t make good pets. The name of the Sanctuary has been changed from RESCUE to HOSPICE & SANCTUARY to better describe what the animal is coming into. As stated before,. .. Most of the residents here are too sick, too injured or just don’t make good pets.
They do however, get handled and “earn their keep” by going to seminars, lectures and wet labs where pet owners, veterinary students and veterinary technicians can learn about their proper care and handling.
This is a picture from a lecture at Texas A & M School of Veterinary Medicine for the summer camp kids.
